Hayao Miyazaki is calling it quits…

 

The mastermind behind Studio Ghibli’s magic films will has retired now that The Wind Rises- the newest film- has been screened. In case you don’t know who he is, Miyazaki is the man behind “Howl’s Moving Castle”, “Spritited Away”, “Princess Mononoke”, and “My Neighbor Totoro” to name a few. The news of the 72 year old retirement comes straight from Koji Hoshino, one of the heads of Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli. Hoshino stated, at the Venice Film Festival:

“Miyazaki has decided that Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises) will be his last film, and he will now retire.”
